Why My Heart Breaks for Mormons

I have been living in Utah for 3 months now and my heart breaks every day. I have seen so many people who follow the Mormon faith that are really great people but will go to Hell if they do not change their ways. There are 2 people that come to my mind and I won’t give their names, but I know these 2 people that are Mormons and my heart hurts.

One of these people is very active in the Mormon Church and as one person says, “Is very Mormon.” The other is what is known as a, “Mormon by name only”. This is a person that does not follow the faith much at all but says they are Mormon because at one time they were baptized into it, and it looks good for business.

Being a Baptist Pastor and being called to Utah by God, it’s my job to show the truth to these people. I have talked with the “Mormon by name only” and have found that she is very lost. They are not Mormon or anything for that fact. She is a person that believes that Mormons are Christians and that she attends other churches when she feel like it.

Now one must understand that once you have joined the Mormon Church, you are told that all others churches are wrong and if you’re seen in another church, you can lose whatever position you hold and if you have a business, you could lose it. Now I know that this concept my sound a little out there, but it is the truth. It’s like once your Mormon, you’re Mormon or you’re dead to them.

This has put fear into a lot of people in Utah about leaving the Mormon Church. As I was talking to the “Mormon by name only”, I told her that the God of the bible and the god of the book of Mormon are two very different beings. For one, the God of the bible is real and the god of the book of Mormon is not. (Now I did not say it so blunt but for the blog this is how I will explain it.) The 2nd time I talked to her, she once again told me how glad she was that I moved here to spread the truth, or in her words, “Another form of the truth.”

The other person I have not been able to talk with yet, but I pray for him every day. I have still not had any Mormon missionaries come to my door and I have been bumped about that one.

But I write this because my Heart is breaking everyday for them. I live among a great group of people but they are lost to this cult known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Please pray from them and me as I work with them and tell them the truth.

Until next time…

What is Judging?

This past week at First Baptist Duchesne, we had a man in his 30’s proclaim that he wish to join the church.  This was a very good time but the problem was that he came in off the street and I had already talked to him a little before church and he had asked for money.  After church we talked once again and he had informed me that before coming to FBD he trying to attend the Mormon Church up the street. I told him that I was glad he left there and came to us. He then Told me that it was ok but he did not fit in, but he did not want to judge them for looking down on him. He then said, “Their Christian too, right?”

This is where I had to stop him and inform him that at this point he was wrong.  I have heard this from other “Jack” Mormons as well.  The Idea that Mormons clam to be Christian so that they can be more appealing is just wrong.  They are trying to push their religion into the Christian view so that when they go door to door they will not have the door shut in the face so much.

Matthew 12:33-37; 33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. 35 A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil. 36 I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

So the Bible tells us that we will know them by their fruit. It was brought to my addition that the Mormon church does a lot of good works.  This is very true. Living in Utah, I can say that is a nice place and the people are very nice.  But the problem is that no matter how good the fruit looks, if the tree is poison then the fruit will also be poison.

When you look at the God of the Bible and the god of the Book of Mormon, it is clear to see that there is only one true God, the God of the Bible. Joseph Smith was nothing more then a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.  Matt 7:15 (HCSB)

He clamed to had visions from God but he was nothing more then a false prophet. He lead people down a path that only leads to Hell and because of him, it goes on today.

1 “If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you, 2 and that sign or wonder he has promised you comes about, but he says, ‘Let us follow other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us worship them,’ 3 do not listen to that prophet’s words or to that dreamer. For the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul. 4 You must follow the Lord your God and fear Him. You must keep His commands and listen to His voice; you must worship Him and remain faithful Him.  Deut 13:1-4 (HCSB)

This is what Joseph Smith and the Mormon church has done. They clam to Know God but their god is nothing more then what was made up in the mind of a story telling teenager.  The question again is can I judge them?  Their tree speaks for itself.

If you have any questions pleases see these website or email me.  Take care and my the God of the Bible bless you.
