What is Judging?
This past week at First Baptist Duchesne, we had a man in his 30’s proclaim that he wish to join the church. This was a very good time but the problem was that he came in off the street and I had already talked to him a little before church and he had asked for money. After church we talked once again and he had informed me that before coming to FBD he trying to attend the Mormon Church up the street. I told him that I was glad he left there and came to us. He then Told me that it was ok but he did not fit in, but he did not want to judge them for looking down on him. He then said, “Their Christian too, right?”
This is where I had to stop him and inform him that at this point he was wrong. I have heard this from other “Jack” Mormons as well. The Idea that Mormons clam to be Christian so that they can be more appealing is just wrong. They are trying to push their religion into the Christian view so that when they go door to door they will not have the door shut in the face so much.
Matthew 12:33-37; 33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. 35 A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil. 36 I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
So the Bible tells us that we will know them by their fruit. It was brought to my addition that the Mormon church does a lot of good works. This is very true. Living in Utah, I can say that is a nice place and the people are very nice. But the problem is that no matter how good the fruit looks, if the tree is poison then the fruit will also be poison.
When you look at the God of the Bible and the god of the Book of Mormon, it is clear to see that there is only one true God, the God of the Bible. Joseph Smith was nothing more then a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. Matt 7:15 (HCSB)
He clamed to had visions from God but he was nothing more then a false prophet. He lead people down a path that only leads to Hell and because of him, it goes on today.
1 “If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you, 2 and that sign or wonder he has promised you comes about, but he says, ‘Let us follow other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us worship them,’ 3 do not listen to that prophet’s words or to that dreamer. For the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul. 4 You must follow the Lord your God and fear Him. You must keep His commands and listen to His voice; you must worship Him and remain faithful Him. Deut 13:1-4 (HCSB)
This is what Joseph Smith and the Mormon church has done. They clam to Know God but their god is nothing more then what was made up in the mind of a story telling teenager. The question again is can I judge them? Their tree speaks for itself.

All Things New
So my family and I moved to Roosevelt, Utah at the first of December. We had never been to Utah and at first I did not want to leave Missouri, but we knew that God wanted us in Utah.
I love St. Louis, everything from the Arch to the Blues to Old Downtown St. Charles. (I know, that’s St. Charles but you know what I mean.) I had a Job, friends, family (an hour away), but I knew God did not want me there anymore.
God was calling my family and I to Utah where I had no job to speak of, no family, I knew no one, and its cold… Oh so cold. But God said go and we went.
We did not have the money to go, but again God provided the way. We packed up and moved to Roosevelt, UT.
So your asking, “What’s in Roosevelt Utah?” NOTHING THERE IS NOTHING HERE IN ROOSEVELT. Ok there are things here but again remember I came from St. Louis Missouri, The best place in the USA, at lest for me, and I came to a small small small town where the big city, Salt Lake is 2 hours away. Plus no comic shop for 80+ miles, Oh Steve at New Castle, How I miss thee.

But we came to Utah with a truck of stuff, a rental house, my wife with a job, and me with the kids and time. Now I had been talking to a church in Duchesne Utah which is about 30 minutes from Roosevelt and to be honest everyplace is 30 minutes from everyplace. But I had been talking to this small church who had lost their pastor about maybe becoming their new pastor.
The first Sunday we were here we went and on the third week I started preaching. As time went on I was voted in as their new pastor. (1-24-11)
So here is the point to this little tell. If you trust in God, He will take care of you. If you lesion to Him, He will tell you what He wants you to do with your life. God has done so many things for my family and I and I know that He will work through me here in Utah. God is Great and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
