This proposition is an example of the fallacy of "begging the question." If you first assume that Christians consist of say, Catholics only, and then ask them to define Christianity, then you shouldn't be surprised to learn that the definition of Christianity is limited to Catholicism only.
You're right about one thing: Is Mormonism Christian? "doesn't become much of a question" when this methodology is used.
Instead of asking people "Who are Christians?" maybe we should look to the Bible and see what it says about being a Christian. When we look at the Bible it will tell us who are Christians and Dr. James White used the Bible. Read the Bible and it will show you the Truth.
Thanks for the video and for the comments. I've been wondering are Mormons Christians lately, especially with everything that Mitt Romney is doing, and I've come to the conclusion that they are. Have you visited the Mormon website? The first thing it says is that they believe in Christ. Seems pretty Christian to me.
If you look into the god that Mormons believe in, it is clear that their god is not the God of the Bible. Just because someone says they believe in Christ does not mean they do. The God of the bible was never a man unlike the god of the mormon faith. Jesus is God in the bible. the mormon faith teaches that Jesus became a god. This is not Christian. I have put a list on my blog (My Top Ten Questions For Mormons) that shows the different between the mormon god and the Christian God, again it shows clear that they are different.
OK, how about this one. Jimmy White and I both live here in Phoenix, I have emailed him several times and I have called him several times, yet he refuses to meet me in person. Why you ask? Because he is afraid I will give him the beat down he should have received as a child. He can make fun of the wives of Brigham Young on his radio show while hiding behind a microphone, but he has not the heart nor the testicles to meet me in real life.
1st, sorry it took so long to get back with you, I was in Missouri on a little vacation and did not take my laptop.
2nd, I don't know why he has not met with you. I do not know James White other then talking with him on over the Internet and that's only a little.
3rd, I am not sure you are someone that he our even I would want to meet or debate. From the times you have posted on my site I have found your comments rude and unprofessional. In fact I don't even think that the LDS church would want someone like you who uses the rudeness that you us to debate for them.(I am sure you are a nice person but your comments again are rude and unprofessional. I am not attacking you as a person.)
I have decided from what you wrote on my site and the things that learned about you, I will no longer post any of your comments or dialogue with you.
"...as long as Christianity can define itself"
