Heading to the Road

Yesterday my wife put me on the first steps to getting my motorcycle.  This was a move from just talking about wanting one to getting one because now I have the jacket.  Yes, yes yes my wife got me a leather jacket.

This is my new motorcycle jacket and I could not be happier.  Now I just need the bike…

Harley Davidson Iron 883

This is the bike I have wanted for since 2009 when it came out. This is one of the best looking bikes I have seen and I am hoping one day, sooner then later, I will be my own Iron 883.  But for now I have the jacket and that’s good for now.

Date night and other things

Last night my wife and I got to have a date night. this is the first date night we have had since we moved to Utah.  Last night we went to see Thor and I could not have been happier.

thor-movie-poster

Now being the huge comic geek I am, this was a very big thing for me and luckily I have an awesome wife that would seat through Thor and let me jabber on about Thor comics and others on the way home.

Men, do you want to know if your girl loves you? Show her your geeky side and if she stays, you got a keeper.  For the women who have married geeks and love them, we thank you for accepting us.

Then when we got home and got the kids to bed, I turn on the TV and it was on Fox News.  Now I have not watched Fox News as much as I use to but I still enjoy it.  Well it was on Sean Hannity and he had Rebecca St. James and Tamara Holder talking about “Slut Week”, their words not mine. (Please watch the clip before reading the rest.)

Now please, I am just going to tell you what goes through the mind of a man and I know not all men think this way but as a man I have a point of view.

Women, when you dress like a sex object that is what men think you are.  We see you as nothing more then an “easy girl”.

Now I have seen women dressing like this since High School and before I became a Christian this is what you dress said to me;

“Come get me because I dressed like this for you, I want you!!!”

Now I never acted on it and to be true full, I have only been with my wife but this was what I was thinking.

Women you may be saying to yourselves; “Your sick!!!” But sorry this how most men think.

Now I am a Christian and the lust of the flesh is something that I have struggled with since I Became a Christian and it does not help when you women dress like this.

9 But be careful that this right of yours in no way becomes a stumbling block to the weak.

1 Cor 8:9 (HCSB)

Now I am not going to say that you all are asking for it because that is not my place because I do not believe that it is your flats.  I do not think that rape is ok or right in any way,  but you do not help the fact that you dress like a hooker or easy or what ever you want to call it.  Men are very visual people and when you dress like a porn star then to most men, they think you want to be a porn star.  And that’s all I ‘m going to say, like it or not but this is from a Godly man point of view who use to live of the world.

Is There a Hell?

So Rob Bell has a new book and I will not even give it’s name. This so called preacher is no more then a wolf in sheep's skins.  In his new book, Rob Bell clams that there is no Hell and that everyone will accept Christ in the end, meaning that they can do this after they die… sounds a little like Mormonism, just a little.  But Rob is moving into the realm of Universalism, although he clams not to be but he sounds like it.

Please view this video of Franklin Graham on Bill O’Reilly

And this clip from MSNBC.  Yea I know, MSNBC but this host did a great job making Rob Bell squirm.

Please, if you like Rob Bell, Pray for him.  What he is teaching is not of the Bible, he needs you Prayers.

If you can Help, Please do

I received this email from St. Louis Christian College.  Stacy Garner was a professor of mine and his church was destroyed by a tornado on Good Friday.  If there is anything you can do to help, please do.  Take a look at his website and see how you can help.

Fellow alumni:
Attached is a letter from Stacy Garner (‘89) regarding the help which is needed for the Ferguson Christian Church.  The tornado destroyed the church building, but the church family is well.  The church needs assistance and anything you could send would be a great blessing to the church family.

Gifts can be made payable to Ferguson Christian Church and sent to Brian Glore (’87), church treasurer, 3 Bromley Dr., Ferguson, MO  63135.  Of course, your prayers are greatly coveted.

You can check out the church’s website at http://www.fergusonchristianchurch.org/.

The following clip was aired on the Today Show which included the worship service Sunday morning in the SLCC chapel.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and help.

Dear Friends,

A devastating EF 4 tornado ravaged Saint Louis on Good Friday, April 22, 2011. The church building, contents, and landscape of Ferguson Christian Church were basically destroyed. Thankfully no lives were lost; buildings and landscape can be replaced, but lives are precious, so we are joyfully praising God for his safekeeping.

We need your help. Could you send a check to Ferguson Christian Church to help meet our many needs.

Many of you have offered expressions of love, concern, prayers and hands-on assistance. We thank God for you. Your love, encouragement and prayers are so vital, especially during this very difficult time. This letter serves as both a thank you for your Christian love and encouragement. We also want you to know how you can help.

1. Even though Ferguson Christian Church has insurance coverage, it seldom covers the costs of a loss like this one. We have a deductible that must be paid. We are also convinced that there will be other expenses that will not be covered by insurance. Any gift you could send to the church would help with this need.

2. Many, if not all of the people who came to watch The Passion of the Christ on that dreadful Friday night have cars which have sustained damage—some of which was major damage. Each of these families has an insurance deductible they must pay. Your help in meeting those insurance deductibles would be a wonderful blessing.

3. We have needs that are more “hands-on”. We’ve had many come already from Saint Louis Christian College and Harvester Christian Church. There is much more to be done, both now and in the weeks and months ahead. Our point-person for coordinating groups is Bob Edwards. He can be reached at BJDEdwards@aol.com or (314) 837-5573.

For now our home will be on the campus of Saint Louis Christian College. In fact, we had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday Worship Service in the SLCC Chapel on Easter Sunday! President and Mrs. Veech as well as Dr. Mike Chambers joined with us as we celebrated the resurrection of our Messiah! We are so appreciative of how Saint Louis Christian College has stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun for our Church.

Pray for Ferguson Christian Church,

Stacy Garner, Minister

We have a job to do

In life we do many Jobs, but do we do our most important job? Well let me ask you this, do you know what the most important job is? Is it helping the poor? Is it making money? Is it rising your kids right? Or is it telling others about God?

16 The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20 (HCSB)

This is our job and we are to do it. No ands, ifs, or butts about it. But to this date there are not a lot of Christians that do this. See now-a-days people believe that there is something wrong or it’s not polite to tell people about Jesus and what He has done for us.

This past Sunday was Easter and we had 50 people in church, this is about 25 more than any other Sunday. Now I know that Christmas and Easter and Mothers Day are the 3 biggest church days but why is that. Well let me tell you because that is something my family did as a kid, it because that’s what you do. (At least that’s what my dad told me)

We need to tell people about Jesus and we need teach them to go to church.

7 But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 (HCSB)

That verse means we should get together with other Christians and praise God together. Now does this mean church? Not always but where do we find other Christians every week, same bat time same bat channel… CHURCH. That’s why we need to go to church every Sunday, to grow and learn. You would not sign up for college to learn and never go.

So this week go out and tell others about Jesus and bring them to church so that they can learn. And if you don’t go to church on Sunday then GO and LEARN.

Charles Spurgeon said this; “If you do not have a passion to see lost soul saved, then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.
